SQUARE MILL
Brookville Wood Products is famous for solid, hardwood squares. The square mill is state-of-the-art and fully automated. Each log that enters the line is computer evaluated by length and diameter. Then the 8 blade head saw completely saws a log every 10 seconds producing 30,000 feet of defect free squares per shift. Using the latest technology available guarantees the most efficient cut from each log so that you are never paying for production inefficiencies. It's this level of production capability that meets the customers' needs year after year. Starting with the finest hardwoods in the world allows to deliver astounding solid squares up to 4 x 4. It also provides with glued squares up to 6 x 6 if the specifications allow. During production at the square mill, the squares are inspected at seven stages to ensure the overall quality of each square produced. The quality and availability of the premium squares is gaining more and more international recognition each year, making Brookville Wood Products a strong player in the domestic and international market.
LUMBER MILL
Discriminating consumers demand their finished products be functional and beautiful every time. Brookville Wood Products provide the superior quality hardwood lumber as raw material to accomplish the manufacturing goals year after year. The fully automated, computerized lumber mill produces over 30,000 board feet per day. However, Brookville Wood Products knows that no matter how advanced the machines may become, it is still the qualified good judgment of people who know lumber that makes the difference in producing top quality lumber. From the start, cants are manually inspected for optimal saw positioning. As boards come off the saw, a quality control inspector calipers for thickness every 10 minutes. Voice activated grading is done as the boards are bundled for drying. After kiln drying, the
 boards are inspected and graded one last time to the specifications and Brookville Wood Products'
strict standards. With an array of radio frequency, conventional, vacuum, and dehumidification kilns, Brookville Wood Products stands ready to meet the orders with little or no lead time required. Brookville's saw-filing and maintenance facilities are a prime example of the commitment to quality.
