TAGBAN TC – WOOD PRESERVATIVE FOR TOTAL PROTECTION FROM TERMITES & BORER

Tropical Agrosystems (India) Ltd. brings to you Tagban TC manufactured with Chlorpyrifos which is the most used termiticide all over the world.

REASONS FOR USING TAGBAN TC
Tagban TC consists of Chlorpyrifos Technical which is the large selling termiticide in the world.
Tagban TC is highly effective against most species of termites.
Tagban TC attacks termites in three powerful ways. It enters into the termites’ nervous system either by contact, orally, or in the form of vapour, which leads to complete disruption of nervous activity, finally resulting in death.
Tagban TC can be easily cleaned with detergent and water. This allows quick and safe correction of any accidental spillage during application.
Tagban TC has the same active ingredients as used internationally in flea sprays and crawling insect sprays for homes, hospitals and restaurants. Tagban TC can therefore be used in and around homes without causing concern for family or pets.

DIRECTIONS FOR USING TAGBAN TC
Dilute 1 part of Tagban TC with l9 parts of water. This provides Tagban TC Emulsion (1% Chlorpyrifos emulsion) which is to be used for all treatment.

TREATMENT DURING CONSTRUCTION
Tagban TC Emulsion should be evenly applied either by sprayer or watering can in the following 3 stages:
a) 1st Stage - The bottom and the sides of foundation pits should be treated with Tagban TC Emulsion to a height of
about 30cm. @ 5 litres per square metre.
b) 2nd Stage - The refill earth on both sides of all built-up walls (approximate width 30cm. and depth 45cm.) should
be treated with Tagban TC Emulsion @ 5 per linear metre.
c) 3rd Stage - Before laying the floor, the entire levelled surface within the plinth wall should be treated with Tagban
TC Emulsion @ 5 litres per square metre.
When used as recommended above, approximately 600 ml. of Tagban TC would be required to treat 1 square
   metre of covered area.

TREATMENT OF EXISTING BUILDINGS
Existing Buildings have to be treated both externally and internally. A thorough inspection of the infested building should be made before starting the treatment.
a) Dig a shovel width trench along the outer wall of the building upto a depth of 50cm. Make 30cm. deep holes all
along this trench at intervals of 15cm. Pour Tagban TC Emulsion @ 1.75 litres per running metre all along this
    trench.
b) Treat the backfill earth with Tagban TC Emulsions @ 0.5 litres per running metre while refilling the trench.
c) If there is a concrete or masonry apron around the building, drill 12mm. holes as close to the plinth wall as
possible and 30cm. apart. Fill the holes with Tagban TC Emulsion @2.25 litres per seal the holes properly.
d) Inside the building, drill 12mm. holes at the junction of the floor and walls, and along any cracks or construction
joints on the floor at intervals to a depth of 1cm. Flood the holes with Tagban TC Emulsion and seal after drying.
e) Similar treatment as d) above should be done around all door and window frames.
f) Soil below any opening in the floor should be charged with Tagban TC Emulsion to avoid entry of termites.
g) Electrical Switchboard covers should be removed and the cavity sprayed with Tagban TC kerosene solution (1 part of Tagban TC with 19 parts of Kerosene)

TREATMENT OF WOODWORK
For treatment of Woodwork, dilute 1 part of Tagban TC with 19 parts of kerosene to obtain the Tagban TC Kerosene Solution. Drill 3mm. holes in existing woodwork with a downward slant. Infuse Tagban TC Kerosene Solution till refusal. Brush all surfaces of woodwork with Tagban TC Kerosene Solution and repeat application after drying, so as to reach 20 ml. of Tagban TC per sq. mt. of wood surface. For new and replacement timber, dipping overnight in Tagban TC Kerosene Solution will ensure better protection due to deeper penetration.

TREATMENT OF PLYWOOD DURING MANUFACTURE
Dilute Tagban TC suitably to 1% or 2% concentration levels and mix with the resin/ adhesive at mixing stage itself. The Chlorpyrifos diffuses out from this adhesive into the plywood during hot pressing, thus making the plywood resistant to insect attack. This method which is called Glue Line protection is simple as welt as cost effective.
