PELLET PRODUCTION SYSTEM

PRODUCTION PROCESS

The production process entails the processing of wood with final transformation into pellets
destined as civil and industrial boilers. The initial product, which was previously collected and
sto warehouse, is fed with a specific device into an automatic a hopper that start up the production flow. The production ensured by specific mechanical and pneumatic conveying system.

Part of the product (previously de-dusted and selected by a gravimetric machine), is sent directly to the final transformation process, and part is passed through a refining machine where it is reduced to the required granulometry.

After the product has been prepared it is conveyed into a closer that feeds the pelleting press.

A transport and lifting system conveys the pellets at 100°C into an air/product cooler with a specific electro-aspirator slave. The cooled pellets are lifted in order to be de-dusted by fall, weighed, put into bags and then placed on pellets.

WHAT PELLETS ARE AND HOW THEY COMPARE WITH OTHER FUELS

Pellets are eco-friendly, that is, they are produced with wood waste from woodworking industries and do not contain any type of pollutants such as glues or plastics. This fuel is cylindrically shaped, its length varies from 1 cm to 5 cm and its diameter ranges from 5mm to 8 mm. Pellets are created by firstly selecting and preparing the wood waste and then subjecting it to extreme pressing.

Pellets offer enormous advantages over standard wood: firstly, a heatvalue of 5,3 KW/Kg which is 1,5 more than standard wood; secondly, with pellets and their specific stove you can have modular heating based on the heat required (because the amount of fuel is regulated directly by the stove). Pellets thus rate better than standard wood with which it was impossible to achieve excellent heating yield. But if one wants precise data, one must compare pellets with the most common fuels. With 2000 Kilos of pellets (more or less 3200 Kilos of wood) the yield is equal to about:
957 m3 of natural gas
1000 l of Diesel fuel
1370 l of GPL
